The Comforter, the Holy Spirit: #1

Dear Friends in Christ,

As we move from the Sundays of Easter and Ascension Sunday to today’s Pentecost Sunday I have been thinking about all the hymns honoring the Holy Spirit that I have heard or sung over the years. I would love to note some scripture and a song for the next 14 Sundays, which some consider to be part of a season of Pentecost.

Scripture:

John 14:26  But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall everything I have told you.

Day 40, the final day of this Musical Experience for Lent falls on Holy Saturday, which commemorates the day that Jesus Christ’s body laid in the tomb.

In closing, fill your heart with the following verse from Zephaniah 3:17: “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save, he will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Imagine that! God will sing over us!
